Grover Beach Community Info

Founded in 1887 by Dwight William Grover, Grover Beach was originally known as the Town of Grover. The name was later changed to the City of Grover City. In 1992 the people of the City of Grover City decided that the name seemed a bit redundant and was not ocean-oriented enough so they voted to change it to Grover Beach as it is today.
Grover Beach is a very small town in San Luis Obispo County located in Central California between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Though it only covers 2.25 miles of land, there is still plenty to do. From hiking to shopping, fishing and clamming to golfing and horseback riding, wine tasting to off-roading it is difficult to get bored here.
With a train station right in town, Grover Beach draws in many tourists and makes traveling easy for its residents. Home to 13,000 people, this beach town is the embodiment of wonderful, mild California Weather.
